Of all the things we eat and drink, water is the most important. We can live without food for seven days, but three days without water usually makes people die.
However, some people don’t understand this. They keep throwing rubbish into rivers and lakes. Some factories even pour waste water into rivers and lakes. As a result many rivers and lakes become so dirty that the water there is no longer safe for people to drink. How terrible it is!
